We have three massage therapists in our office, Michelle Fray, Melanie Darrow, and Jenae Summerour.
Michelle has been helping people through massage since she was a little girl when everyone told her she had her Great Grandmothers strong hands. After high school she pursued massage by attending Ashmead for a year-long intensive program. There she learned everything from specific treatment work for pathologies to relaxation Swedish massage and found her niche in trigger point work and treatment. After school Michelle has worked in a chiropractor’s office as well as a spa continuing her education. Michelle is so passionate about helping people and their health, she started to work as a personal fitness trainer to compliment the body work she does on the table. She loves working with people of all kinds and is excited to join the team at Boones Ferry Chiropractic and Massage.

After studying Business Technology for two years, I decided that my calling was not in business technology but in helping others, through massage. As someone who has experienced the benefits of massage, this was the beginning of a life-long passion. After switching colleges, I graduated from the Massage Therapy Program at Anthem College. While in school I discovered a keen interest in anatomy and kinesiology, I believe that having a better understanding of what is beneath your hands during a massage will greatly increase the effectiveness of the massage. Although I have experience with a wide variety of massage modalities, including Swedish and Trigger Point Therapy, I enjoy and excel in Deep Tissue and Post-Injury Massage. When not massaging, I spend my days with my family, which includes my three-year-old son, husband, and golden retriever, Pixie-Dust. My family and I enjoy all things active, such as running, snowboarding, and hiking. I have set out to help others through massage and am ecstatic to be doing that at Boones Ferry Chiropractic and Massage.

As a 2005 Ashmead graduate, I had achieved over 800 hours of massage theory and practice in one year of schooling. Other studies included anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology (the study of movement). After my initial licensure in 2006, I focused my practice working in a gym where my greatest techniques became trigger point therapy and sports massage.
In 2009 I pursued working in a chiropractic office in Salem, where I continue to work three days a week. My style of massage could be described as deep and therapeutic, yet relaxing. I always make sure to incorporate deep tissue, myofascial release, and some reflexology on the hands and feet. I also like to take a few minutes before each massage to assess how each person is feeling that day, so I can tailor the massage to best meet each inidividual’s needs.
